Strengthening child protection in remote villages

Community Child Protection Teams (CCPTs) were established in five chiwogs of Trong Gewog through Phase I of the project “Advocacy on Child Protection to Create an Enabling Environment for Our Children”.

The launch brought together local leaders and representatives, and included the introduction of a child protection manual and seed funding to support the sustainability of the CCPTs.

The teams are intended to serve as local referral points so that children and families in remote communities can access timely services and support. They will work in coordination with the Gewog Child Protection Team and the Dzongkhag Women and Child Committee.

The project is funded by Helvetas Bhutan.
