Children in Difficult Circumstances (CIDC) may face a range of challenges, including abuse, neglect, violence, exploitation, homelessness, family breakdown and social exclusion.
When these challenges are not addressed, they can have serious consequences for a child’s safety, development and future wellbeing.
For this reason, child protection lies at the heart of Nazhoen Lamtoen’s work.
Why it matters
Children often experience multiple and interconnected challenges. Without timely support, risks can escalate and affect many aspects of a child’s life, including health, education, relationships and emotional wellbeing.
Effective child protection is therefore not limited to responding when harm has already occurred. It also involves recognising risks early, strengthening protective factors and ensuring that children and families can access support before situations become more serious.
This preventive approach helps reduce risks and strengthens pathways towards safety, stability and positive development.
How we contribute
Nazhoen Lamtoen works with children, families, communities and partner agencies to identify, prevent and respond to child protection concerns. Support is tailored to each child’s individual circumstances, needs and best interests.
The organisation’s work includes:
- Identifying and assessing child protection concerns.
- Providing case management and individual support.
- Supporting children affected by abuse, neglect, exploitation or violence.
- Providing psychosocial support and guidance.
- Coordinating referrals and access to specialised services.
- Promoting child safeguarding and child rights.
