On 25 March 2026, Nazhoen Lamtoen convened a consultation workshop with the Dzongkhag Women and Child Welfare Committee (DWCC) in Dagana following the project “Integrated Programme: Strengthening Community-Based Child Protection System, Mechanism and Response Structure.”
Implemented over four months, the project covered ten chiwogs across Khebisa and Laja Gewogs in collaboration with UNICEF Bhutan, Dagana Dzongkhag Administration, the National Commission for Women and Children, The PEMA, RENEW and the respective gewog administrations.
The initiative focused on establishing and strengthening Community-Based Child Protection Teams. The consultation introduced the teams to the DWCC, reviewed coordination mechanisms and referral pathways, shared achievements and lessons from implementation, and discussed sustainability and future collaboration.
