As part of the project “Building a Safer Future: Establishing Community-Based Child Protection Teams,” a Child-Led Awareness Campaign was conducted across Nangkor Gewog in Zhemgang Dzongkhag.
The campaign followed Phase I community mapping at Buli Central School, where children from five chiwogs identified child protection concerns, risks and existing protective mechanisms in their communities.
Before Phase II, child representatives from each chiwog received an orientation to prepare them to lead community awareness sessions. The week-long campaign shared findings from the mapping exercise, engaged parents, youth, community members and local leaders, and supported child focal persons to lead discussions on child rights and protection.
The initiative aimed to strengthen community-based child protection and collective responsibility for safer environments for children.
